Hampta pass is situated on the Pir Panjal range at an elevation of 4270 m (14040 ft) from sea level. You have to walk through small villages, where you can meet some shepherds who use Hampta pass in the summer for the grasslands.

 Hampta pass trek offers a rapid variation in its route of trailing. There are some hard rock grey trails, some trails are through the dense forest then you have to cross a river and there are meadow and snow-covered areas too if you plan it in winter. The maximum altitude of this trek is 14,000 feet which makes it a moderate trek when considered the difficulty level. The proper duration you should take is 5 days.

The best time of this trek is June to September but if you like some chilling weather then winter is well and good for you. Jobra is the Base camp of this trek and you have to start from the famous Himachal city Manali. You can find several transport options from Delhi to reach Manali. Day 1

Manali to Jobra to Jwara – HAMPTA PASS TREK

You have to reach Manali from Delhi or Chandigarh. There are plenty of buses available from both the places by covering the distance of 530 KMS on road at proper night it will take the time in between 9 to 11 hours in the normal cost of 600 to 800 INR. From Manali, you have to reserve a car towards Jobra which is the base camp of the trek. This journey is famous for 40 hairpin turns and a picturesque view of Kullu valley.

It will take 2 hours to reach Jobra and cab fare is 2500 rs for a reserved one or you can take local buses there with the normal fare of 50rs / head. You can arrange a shared car too which will cost less. After reaching Jobra you have to trek for 5 hours  30 minutes to 6 hours to reach the campsite at Jwara. It’s an easy walk as most of the path is descent. There are a couple of waterfalls a river on the way and you can easily refill your water bottle from the river. You may find some snow in the bank of the river in the months of April or May. Then the trail is through pine forest which will lead to a meadow. Pitch your tents and give the sleeping bag a warm hug.

Day 2

Jwara to Balu Ka Ghera – HAMPTA PASS TREK

In the second day you have to trek 4.5 km to reach the altitude of 12,400 ft. Rani river will accompany you throughout the trek. There are some snow covered mountains in front of you behind which the pass lies. Then after a hour of trail the Rhododendron forest will left behind you and you can see the amazing panoramic view of  Dhauladhar range.

Then you will get a water fall, may refill your bottles from here. Now the river will be in left side and you have to cross the river very cautiously. You may find melted snows floating in the river and it feels like you are in the lap of the mother nature. After few hours of ascent walk you will reach the camp site Balu Ka Ghera. You will not find any connection with sand as the name describes. It’s a small meadow amidst the snow covered mountains.

Day 3

Balu Ka Ghera to Hampta Pass to Sheagoru – HAMPTA PASS TREk

It’s the most hectic and hard day of the whole trek as you have to gain a altitude of 1700 ft. Hampta pass is situated at the altitude of 12,900 ft from the sea level. There is no water source on the way so carry enough water from the camp site.

The way to the Hampta pass from Balu Ka Ghera is a steep ascent path. As the altitude will increasing gradually you have to take some breaks. Try to start early in the morning. After a hour of steep climp you can see the Deo Tibba peak in front of you. After a climb of half an hour from here you will reach the second reach. Hampta pass is just a few steps ahead from here. The pass will offer you a magnificent panoramic view of various Himalayan peaks. Spend some time here and make some memories of life time.

From the pass there is a downhill zigzag way. You have to take a right turn and follow the trail towards the base of the pass. From here a easy walk leads you the camp site Sheagoru.

Day 4

Sheagoru to Chandratal via Chhatru – HAMPTA PASS TREK

Most of the trekkers love this day more than the day they reached Hampta pass because of the famous Chandratal lake though weather plays an important role in this case. After a trek of 3 hours, you will reach the beautiful village named Chhatru.

If weather and roads are all clear, arrange a car from here towards the lake of moon. Chandratal lake is a famous high altitude lake of spiti valley at the height of 14,000 ft. try to be hydrated to avoid mountain sickness. You can pitch your tents at chandratal or come back to Chhatru to spend the night.

So you have to leave Manali in the morning as early as possible. Solang valley is situated at the elevation of 8400 feet above the sea level, from where you have to start. The trail is moderately ascent and goes through forest. You have to trek 13 kilometres to reach the first camp site Bakrathatch. It will takes 7 to 8 hours including two breaks of half an hour each. Day 2 – Bakrathatch – Beas Kund – Bakrathatch In the second day you have to trek 3 kilometres to reach the summit of Beas Kund. The trail is steep and rocky so you have be quite careful. Carry enough drinking water from the camp site as there is no such source of water. After two hours of trek you will reach a meadow known as “Lady Leg”. You can see the Friendship peak from here. Take some pictures and get relaxed  for sometime. From the Lady Leg meadow you have to trek for half an hour more by a steep path to reach the summit. BHRIGU LAKE TREK is situated at manali valley of Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. There are so many great trekking routes in this state but all of them can’t be possible for the beginners. BHRIGU LAKE TREK  is a easy trek that anyone can reach the summit with a little bit of fitness. The main thing which is needed to complete this trek is desire. This trek takes only 5 days to complete it. It may take the total expanse of 600 to 800 INR as per person. After spending the proper night you may reach MANALI at the morning in 12 hours near the time in between 7am to 10am. First Distance Cover – Delhi to MANALI – 530 KMS Amount – 600 to 800 INR Traveling hours – 12 hour Things to carry – personal water + Power Bank + Personal Banket Day 2 – MANALI TO GULABA ( JONKER THATCH ) ( Base Camp Site ) On the day 2 after reaching to MANALI you need to travel a little more distance of 20 KMS to reach towards the GULABA your first base camp place. You need to carry on the basic local buses who move under the local fare of 50 INR per person or if you want you need to carry the cab / taxi it may cost you 3000 per cab. By covering the total distance it may take maximum 1 hours to reach your basic camp site as totally depends upon the traffic you can get in between. At GULABA you see a lot of people who offer you the best camping packages as it maximum cost you 1500 to 2000 per person totally depends upon your bargaining power. Otherwise if you are totally well in camping you need to carry your own camping tools or can take the camping equipment on rent. It totally take an total time of travelling 4 – 5 hours by complete a proper 5 KMS of distance depending upon your speed. You travel in between the green grassland, some beautiful viewing mountains through the valley of flowers at BEST TREKKING PLACE IN HIMACHAL PRADESH. Trekking Distance – GULABA ( JONKER THATCH ) (10,370 ft) TO ROLA KHULI (12,566 ft) – 5 KMS walking Traveling hours – 4 – 5 hour Things to carry – must carry personal water + Power Bank DAY 4 – ROLA KHULI (12,566 ft) TO BHRIGU LAKE (14,009 ft) Forth day is really a hactic / too long walking day on the day you need to travel at the early morning as you need to cover 10 KMS towards BHRIGU LAKE (14,009 ft) side and came back on the same day ROLA KHULI (12,566 ft) on your base came.
